DIY organizer ft. chalk paint

I have a lot of shoe boxes. And I needed an organizer for all my pens, pencils, etc. I present to you a DIY organizer (chalk version). Have fun!

Supplies:
-Any size shoe box
-Toilet paper rolls (depends on how many you want)
-Glue gun
-Tape
-Chalk paint
-Sponge brush
-Something to paint on

STEP 1: While your glue gun is heating up, tape the sides of the shoe box. If your box is sturdy than you can skip this step. (You won't see the tape)

STEP 2: Place your toilet paper rolls in your box to determine how many you need. And if you can't put two or three across (like me), just work with what you have. I didn't fill my whole box because I wanted to save room for other items, like, post its, glue stick, and such.

STEP 3 (optional): I took a pencil and drew on the inside of the rolls, just to mark where I wanted to place them.

STEP 4: Apply glue to the bottom and on the side. The side glue will go next to the sides of the box and other rolls.

STEP 5: Paint your box! Make sure you apply enough paint so its opaque.

STEP 6: Let your box dry. I'm to impatient to wait for it to dry, so I used my fan to dry it faster. You can use a hair dryer too.

STEP 7: Decorate it and organize like crazy! I put my markers, pencils, pens, ruler, eraser, and more.
Be proud for what you accomplished!!

The flower pot is what I had before. Now I have this super cute organizer!! And I can draw on it too! I think this would be great for college or a classroom. Enjoy!

My treasures that I hold so dear to my heart

When I was a little girl, I thought there was treasure in the attic. Not money or gems, but like how they show in the movies. People would explore their attics and find scrapbooks, their mother's wedding gown, or even secrets.
Treasure - The quantity of precious metals, gems, or other valuable objects. My treasures may not be valuable to others, but to me they are infinite.
I'm in love with nautical theme. I really liked this quote. I painted it on this old piece of wood that I found at my friend's house.

Thanks to Bath & Body Works, I have this awesome pineapple candle holder. When the light from the candle shines through, it gives it a cool effect.

An actual treasure box. My great-grandpa made it for me. Its really special, and holds a lot of special treasures in it.

In Parent Trap (1998), Annie has a tin box full of pics and memoir. Mine isn't as fancy, but it stores pictures full of memories.

I won this at the Oregon State Fair for making a card. It was really fun!

I was dying to have lawn flamingos. I love them so much! They are kind of obnoxious, but they keep me company;)

One of my hobbies are collecting state key chains from each state. So far I have 20/50. I've been to about 28 states. I hung up some postcards and pics too!

Last, but certainly not the least. My zebra Book of Mormon. I decorated it at YW. Its like any other Book of Mormon you would had out to your friend. Except, I have a lot of scriptures and notes/inspiration from it.

TOFW 2014

This was a pretty exciting TOFW. My best friend Lauren and my 2nd mom (her mom) came with us so we could have a girl's weekend. We did a lot of fun things and enjoyed TOFW.

We left our house after eating delicious crepes and headed to Birmingham which is 2 hours away. We sang, excersised, and tried NOT to get carsick.
We got to Birmingham early so we could explore!! We check into our hotel and found a little town to explore.

*Crazy thing happened. I had a deja vu dream of where we stayed. Crazy!!*

It was fun walking around. We went there to find a cupcake shop, but when we got there they had just sold all of them. What?! How do you run out of cupcakes???? We found a doll shop, it sold like Barbie and Madame Alexander dolls. We saw a really creepy doll, so of course we had to find the creepiest doll ever. Lauren won. They were so scary, I was laughing really hard. We found a wedding dress shop. We wanted to go in soooo bad, but you had to have an appointment. So we had to look desperately through the window.
We wanted to find somewhere cheaper to shop, so we found a thrift store. It was THE most darling thrift store ever. The ladies were so nice and helpful. They said we looked like models. We each probably tried on at least 7 dresses. I found THE MOST PERFECT DRESS EVER!!! It looked like a dress Audrey Hepburn would wear. It was perfect. But not $100, well just maybe. I wanted it, but didn't think I would wear it that often and I didn't have $100.
We came back to our hotel to finish getting ready before we went to TOFW. I almost fell asleep.

We got to TOFW just in time. We got this beautiful clock for $10. And there was a lot of women. The bathrooms were crowded. We saw Jenny Oaks Baker play her violin. She's amazing.

Hanna, Lauren and I wanted to sleep together so we put the two queen beds to gether and were all spralled out. Lauren was telling me that we were going to stay up late. But she was the first one of us to fall asleep.

I woke up early because of the time difference. I got ready for the day and packed. We went down for breakfast. I got a delicous, warm, creamy hot cocoa.

Went to the last part of the conference. Hilary Weeks was amazing!!! I love her music. "Music is what feelings sounds like". We went and had Thai food for lunch. It was so good!!!

It was a great experience and I had a wonderful time. I can't wait till its here in Atlanta next year!!!
