DIY organizer ft. chalk paint

I have a lot of shoe boxes. And I needed an organizer for all my pens, pencils, etc. I present to you a DIY organizer (chalk version). Have fun!

Supplies:
-Any size shoe box
-Toilet paper rolls (depends on how many you want)
-Glue gun
-Tape
-Chalk paint
-Sponge brush
-Something to paint on

STEP 1: While your glue gun is heating up, tape the sides of the shoe box. If your box is sturdy than you can skip this step. (You won't see the tape)

STEP 2: Place your toilet paper rolls in your box to determine how many you need. And if you can't put two or three across (like me), just work with what you have. I didn't fill my whole box because I wanted to save room for other items, like, post its, glue stick, and such.

STEP 3 (optional): I took a pencil and drew on the inside of the rolls, just to mark where I wanted to place them.

STEP 4: Apply glue to the bottom and on the side. The side glue will go next to the sides of the box and other rolls.

STEP 5: Paint your box! Make sure you apply enough paint so its opaque.

STEP 6: Let your box dry. I'm to impatient to wait for it to dry, so I used my fan to dry it faster. You can use a hair dryer too.

STEP 7: Decorate it and organize like crazy! I put my markers, pencils, pens, ruler, eraser, and more.
Be proud for what you accomplished!!

The flower pot is what I had before. Now I have this super cute organizer!! And I can draw on it too! I think this would be great for college or a classroom. Enjoy!
