2016 Gold Family Reunion:Day 1

The week had finally arrived! School was over and I only had to work one day that whole week. We had family come in from far and wide to come together. We had so many things planned, and I was most excited about was seeing my family.

I began Tuesday morning frantically looking for my wallet. I could not find it anywhere and the time was ticking till I had to go pick up my family from the airport. So, I drove to the airport without my license, dreading what my parents would say when they found out. Well, they didn't get mad at me:)

My dad's wonderful selfie skills (we have somethings to work on)

We went directly to Multonomah Falls to meet up with some other family members to go hiking for the day. The parking lot at Multonomah was relatively full, so we parked at Wahkeena Falls and hiked the .5 miles to Multonamah. It was a perfect day to go hiking. Don't believe me? See for yourself.

After hiking Multonomah, we hiked Wahkeena Falls also. The view was perfect and breathtaking. We were going to wait around in Portland for Nathan and Ashley's plane to land, but it got delayed by an hour. So we headed down the Pacific Highway to stop by Crown Pointe.

On the way to the airport we stopped at Shari's to get a quick snack cause we weren't going to make it to Matt's house till 6:30. We were reunited with the family and it was a memorable evening. Most of the older girl cousins went exploring the abandoned train tracks near Matt's house. Of course we had to document our adventures.

There was a balcony that hung over the edge of the tracks (pictured above); we were probably at least 50-75 feet from the ground. We saw it as an act of bravery and we all did it.

First day was great!
